Artist Statement
Being an artist means that it effects every part of my life, my creativity cannot be turned off, whether I am working in the studio or walking on the beach. I believe that one should use all the senses when exploring a subject, and I paint, sculpt, photograph, install, touch, listen and taste when examining a subject.
My work focuses primarily on emotions, how they are affected by the wonders of nature; our humanness of fear of the cataclysmic typhoon or wonder at the opening of bud. The focus is not on nature itself, but our reaction in the face of it.
Past projects include: Natural Disasters, Cloudwatching, Looking up looking down and Pavement.
I LOVE: My Family – Drawing – Creating – Crisps - People watching.
I LIKE: Eating – Walking – Badminton – Writing – Sleeping – Home – Thinking – Kindness - My hands.
I LOATH: Bossiness – Dumplings – Intimidation – Arrogance – Backache - Cats using my garden as a toilet.

Biography
In 2008 I closed down my successful business (‘Crowning Glory’ - specialized wedding hair) as my creative energy had become more focused on the Fine arts. By then I had completed an Art and Design degree (Plymouth university) and basic teaching qualifications (PTTLS) and have since finished the Open University courses; Creative writing, Art and its Histories and Art in the Twentieth Century.
I spend part of my time teaching, demonstrating and lecturing at different venues, the remaining three days a week I am drawing, painting, creating and escaping into 'my place'.
