Jason Butler

Artist Statement

I try to work closely with my clients and strive to produce paintings which capture the sitter whilst allowing the paintings to be autonomous objects in their own right.

The majority of my paintings are produced from photographs. Normally the sittings would take place at the sitters’ residence or in the artists’ studio in Jersey. I am more than happy to offer advice on framing and will travel if requested.

If working from life I would require 3-9 sittings of approximately 1-2 hours each. This will vary according to the size of the canvas and the availability of the sitter.
