Living in the Sunshine

In the ‘60s and ‘70s, Jersey basked in the sunshine as a popular holiday destination. This exhibition of paintings celebrates Tourism’s ‘golden days’ as well as looking at island life itself. Focusing on people and activities, the paintings are about nostalgia and recollection - a snapshot of Jersey in the latter part of the 20th century. The overall theme is a lighthearted, joyful interpretation of their subject. Work is created using acrylic/gouache on paper-board.

Matt Falle was short listed for the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition 2009.
